SOLON Sells Solar Power Plants with a Combined Capacity of 4.6 MW in Italy

The solar technology company SOLON has sold a solar power plant with a capacity of 1.5 MW in the northern Italian province of Udine to EAM Solar AS, a Norwegian investment company who has also committed to buy a power plant with a capacity of 3.1 MW located just 10 km away.

The two power plants generate a combined annual capacity of approx. 7,070 megawatt hours of electricity, which is enough to power more than 1,885 homes and save approx. 5,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions every year.

Featuring dual-axis tracking systems with SOLON PV modules, the solar power plants have already been connected to the power grid and are eligible for subsidies under the Conto Energia II scheme. The sale also includes a 5-year service and maintenance contract for SOLON. In both projects the Trento-based Italian company Solar 3 secured and prepared the sites for construction while SOLON oversaw planning, installation and project management.

¡°We have found a financially strong and experienced partner in EAM Solar, a company who shares our commitment in long-term quality. SOLON power plants deliver high yields on a consistent basis - so that your initial investment actually pays off," says Stefan Säuberlich, CEO of SOLON SE.

¡°We are satisfied with this opportunity to acquire high quality, high efficiency power plants, which are representative of the type of assets that EAM Solar is investing in. We look forward to working with SOLON in the years forward,¡± says Viktor E. Jakobsen, Chairman of EAM Solar.
