Solar feed-in tariff up by 10c in Australia

SOLAR panel owners will get an extra 10c bonus for the excess electricity they feed back into the grid over the next 16 months, Premier Mike Rann said.

The increase to 54c a kilowatt hour for households and groups with electricity-generating solar panels returning excess power back to the grid would run until the solar generation capacity from smaller users reached an expected 60 megawatts (MW) by December 2011, he said.
